Orchestra

Well, Steve is now officially part of our church's new community orchestra! :) Yep, tis true -- he has pulled out his trombone, dusted it off, and the musical sounds can be heard throughout our house! :)

He misses being part of the worship team so much, like he was in Iowa. But, to be part of the worship team(s) here, isn't really possible, unless you're on staff at IHOP, which isn't practical at the moment with his job. But, he really misses playing the base and singing. So....this possibility came up recently and at least he can be involved with the music somehow. So, he pulled out his trombone and has been practicing.

He was actually quite good in highschool. He was first chair and part of the jazz band, concert band, etc. He loved it. But, the last several years, he's been more into playing his base and singing.

It's been funny to watch him pull it out, practice like crazy, and last night he had to 'audition' (very low pressure!) -- but, he was sooooooooooooooooooooo nervous! The two directors he had to play in front of were very gracious and kind, and he's 'in', but it's a joke around here now because he was the ONLY trombone to audition, so he says they liked him so much they gave him 'first chair'! LOL

I'm excited for him to be able to get back into music again -- and who knows, maybe someday he'll get to sing again, too! :)
