Neighbors!

Awhile back, Steve and I had gone for a walk one night and noticed that some neighbors a few houses down the street were doing stuff to their roof and the wife was up on the roof, trying to stay on! So, Steve thought he should offer them his 'foam cushions' as they help to stay on the roof. (I never would have known that had I married a construction man/roofer! LOL) Anyway, they were thrilled. Steve told them he didn't need them back; however, tonight there's a knock at our door and the lady is bringing back the foam cushions in one hand and a pie in the other hand! We were so grateful and hadn't expected anything like that. But, this is how nice our neighborhood is -- everyone is so kind! We love the area we live in! Anyway -- we had just eaten supper and pie sounded like a great idea! So, it wasn't until AFTER we'd eaten part of it that I thought to take a photo -- LOL. It was so yummy -- we had fun trying to figure out exactly what kind it is -- but, it began with an obviously homemade crust that was light and flaky and then some sort of fudge brownie w/nuts and then a thin frosting/cream cheesy type frosting over that and cherries on top. VERY YUMMY! Steve's excited to take the rest to work tomorrow -- and he's thinking he should loan out his foam cushions again and see what other delicious desserts our neighbors might be capable of making! LOL

Chester wanted some really bad, so he sat like such a good boy right beside the table and would look at us longingly, but when we'd look at him, he'd look down with this pitiful look! LOL But, Aunt Dena (who is much more dog-smart than I) says "NO! do not give that dog people food!" so -- sorry, Chester, no pie for you. :(
