Well, we had a very busy weekend, but it was great. :)
Friday night was busy, trying to finish up the last of the prep work for texturing the walls. You should have seen our house (I might get up pictures soon, we'll see! LOL) -- it was crazy! Sooooooooo much plastic and tape everywhere. Steve tried to cover everything really well. Plastic covering the windows and the doorways and over the furniture. What a mess! LOL
Saturday morning, Steve and I left for Teen Challenge to do Christ-Life. It was INCREDIBLE! We both just sat there in awe of God doing it yet again. He loves to set people free and it always amazes us to see His faithful pursuit of peoples' hearts! These teenage girls are so awesome! Their hearts are so open and ready for freedom. They hunger for Truth! We've never seen anything like this. We've done so many groups over the years and we've seen so many people ready for Truth and be set free, but nothing as much like this. It is absolutely the most precious thing we've seen with Christ-Life yet! They are young enough to not have all the 'religious garbage' and they're just so real and 'what you see is what you get' and they are just so 'ripe' and ready to deal with their stuff! We left just stunned -- we've never led such a 'ready' group. We are beyond excited to see what God is going to do during these 2 months!!!! YEAH JESUS!
Then, we came home to Chrissy's Dad and Mom here -- Chrissy's Dad is a professional painter and offered to come and texture our walls for free. What a blessing! So, they came and he and Steve got to work for the next few hours on texturing all our walls, plus the garage. A huge mess, but it's done!!!! Yipeeeeeeeeee! :)
That night we went to a couple's home in Parkville, MO -- North KC -- who threw a shower for Matt and Chrissy. That was fun! Most of the people there were from Matt's work -- lots of people we've heard about, but never have met. He works for a great company, with Christian owners, and they're all super nice people and so friendly and welcoming to Steve and I -- the 'outsiders'. :) We had a great meal and did some games and them opening presents. It was fun. Matt and Chrissy are coming over for supper Thursday night, so we're anxious to just hang out with the two of them again, too. They're getting married in just about 6 weeks! Wow! :)
Sunday we went to church and heard a stirring message by Lou Engle about what's going on in California with the rioting about Prop 8 and all that. It was so stirring for Steve and I -- I'd like to take a whole nother post to just talk about it, because it really cut us to the core......but it was really good for us and we're so greateful to be attending a church where Truth is spoken!
Sunday afternoon, we had our family pictures taken by Nick Loux -- remember, he's the son of John and Tracie Loux, and their adopting Aiden from the Ukraine, so Nick is taking photos as a fundraiser. He's a great budding photographer! We were impressed with what great ideas he had and how he did things -- Steve says he wants to keep using him as he grows up! :) We haven't seen the photos yet, but I'm sure they'll be great, and most of all -- it was fun to know that we can help bless them in bringing home their new son hopefully soon! :)
Today has been a crazy day with work and then I spent an hour at the chiropractor (been having major hip pain and have been trying to get some help with getting it healed up -- grrrr!) and then supper and now the boys are doing homework and Steve and I are winding down........
So, that was our weekend. Busy and full, but good. :)

Glad to hear things are coming together on your house. Not to put any pressure on you, but TG isn't very far away. LOL I know you'll get it done and it'll look great. I expect to see lots of pictures once it's all done!
