Fostering

I've had several people ask me for an update on our foster parent 'stuff' and so I thought I'd give you all an update here....

Let me just say, this process is SLLLLLLLLLOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!! For the lack of foster parents, which we keep hearing about, you'd think they'd hurry up this process just a little bit! lol We're ok with the pace of it right now because our lives have been so busy and crazy, but we're really baffled by how slow of a pace things are!

Anyway.....where things stand right now are:

They just sent us another packet of regulations/paperwork to complete because the one we initially did is 'outdated' and they've revised some things! Ugh!

We have a meeting the end of July with a resource worker from Topeka who will spend 2-3 hours here doing a 'walk through' of our home and making sure we have all the certifications/paperwork in place. She'll be the precursor to the KDHE licensing people who will be coming 1-2 months after she does to basically do the same thing.

In the mean time, we have certifcations to get and fingerprints to be done at our local police station, etc.

So, 'best case' scenario, we're easily looking at mid-fall before we'll be approved and officially licensed! Wow -- and to think we started the classes last winter! It'll be almost a year before we actually might possibly even get a child!

Well, that's the update -- it's all moving along at a 'snail's' pace, but we're just trusting God's timing and resting in His plans and purposes for our family as well as the children He'll love through our family.
