Yep, he's only home one night and then tomorrow he's heading back for the 2nd round of the Awakening Teen Camp at IHOP. It is so great to see him again and have him home! We missed him like crazy and he seems so much more grown up! He loved the first session and God did some cool things in his life. He was so tired this morning and then this afternoon he perked up, we washed his clothes, and he began packing immediately and is ready to go again. I'm so grateful he gets to be only 13 years old and take a whole month out of his summer to just focus on the things of God. What a foundation to build at such a young age! Sounds like they got to do a lot of fun, teenager-ish stuff, too -- like the "crud war" where they got to throw things like flour, shaving cream water balloons, bird seed, at each other across a field, and he was skateboarding a lot, and just a lot of fun stuff, too. Below are some pictures at the end of the 'crud war' -- doesn't he have a cute hairstyle? He thought he'd make it into a mohawk since had so much shaving cream in his hair. Wow -- it really looks long like this! lol (Notice the mark on his nose? He said there was so much flour flying in the air that you couldn't see anything and he and another kid ran into each other! lol)
We're enjoying every moment with him and then will see him off again tomorrow....
