Today is a nice day.....very hot and humid here, but it's a nice day for us, to just begin to get our 'bearings'. :-)
This morning we went as a family to our first church service here in KC. We went to Forerunner Christian Fellowship, over in Grandview, which is about 20 minutes to the East. This is associated with the International House of Prayer. It was a great service and we really liked it a lot. I don't know if this is where we'll end up, but we did like this morning. I think there's a few other churches we'll try and then go from there. We're so ready to find a 'home church' and get settled in, and yet we want to take our time and make sure we find what will be the best 'fit' for our family. We are totally trusting the Lord to lead us on this one because there are sooooooooo many options down here!
Then we had lunch with Steve's Mom and brother, Paul. They then left, headed back to St. Clair. His Mom was such a blessing to us in cleaning all the windows of our entire house and helping us out with things. It was good to see her again.
And, now here we are back at home -- and we are headed for a nice, long REST! I think we're all exhausted from the last few weeks and ready for some 'down time'. Steve already crashed in our bedroom and is snoring! LOL He's been going so strong and hard for awhile now, that I'm really glad he's resting! :-)
Then, later tonight we need to work around our house some -- we have yet to get our dryer hooked up. The sellers had an electric dryer and we have gas, so Steve's having to make some adjustments. It's a lot harder to do without my Dad here! We miss your help, Dad! How soon are you coming for a visit? LOL Then we need to get the yard mowed and weed eated before our new neighbors kick us out of our subdivision for having such a long yard! LOL And, then lastly Steve needs to figure out how to stop our garage door opener from making such an annoying beep all the time! LOL There is a security system attached to it that beeps when someone enters/exits; however, it's beeping at wierd times and we have yet to figure out how to detach it or make it shut off! LOL
Oh, well -- it'll all get done AFTER our nap! :-) Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...............
