Today's Church Service

This morning we'd planned to go to church as usual; however, we got the Sunday newspaper and saw that another nearby church was having a special speaker: Brother Yun! We were so excited to hear that he was in the area and made the decision to go to Evangel Temple and hear Brother Yun this morning instead. We are so glad we did.

Brother Yun is from China and became a christian at age 17. After becoming a Christian, God called him to share the gospel, so he began traveling all throughout the nation of China sharing the gospel. But, because it's a communist country, it was against the law. So, he did. He suffered greatly and was imprisoned 3x. And, the last time, he had almost all of the bones in his legs broken by the police. But, God miraculously opened the prison doors and he walked free. It is an amazing story.

Now, he lives here in the West, and is not allowed to enter the nation of China again. So, he travels sharing the story of the persecuted church in China. You can read more of his story and the 'Back to Jerusalem' movement he's involved in here: http://www.backtojerusalem.com/

We've read his story in his book, "The Heavenly Man." And, I'd encourage anyone to read it. It really stops to make you think how incredibly privileged we are here in America with all the freedoms we have, but it also causes your heart to think beyond yourself to the persecuted church in China, who risks their very lives for the sake of the Kingdom.
